Saint Catherine Monastery

Mount Sinai is a 2,285 metre high mountain near Saint Catherine in the Sinai region in Egypt. The St. Catherine’s Monastery is located on the foot of Mount Sinai. Christian orthodoxies settled upon this mountain in the third century.
The monastery is Greek Orthodox and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site; this monastery is believed to be the oldest working Christian monastery in the world.
The monastery possesses a huge collection of Christian manuscripts and icons. One of the most precious documents of all is the copy of a letter given to Christian monks by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in 628 AD.

The Covenant

With Islam’s rising influence in Arabia by 626 A.D., Prophet Muhammad sent a series of letters to various kings and leaders surrounding the Arab peninsula declaring his intention for peace and cooperation. In 628 AD, a delegation from St. Catherine’s Monastery came to Prophet Muhammad and requested his protection. He granted them protection and provided them with a letter which is called the “Charter of Privileges.”
St. Catherine Monastery at Mount Sinai proudly commemorates Prophet Muhammad’s letter of protection. The original letter can be found at the royal treasury in Constantinople in Turkey. A copy is preserved and is on display at the St. Catherine Monastery.
The letter reads:

“This is a message from Muhammad, son of Abdullah, as a covenant to those who adopt Christianity, near and far, we are with them.
Verily I, the servants, the helpers, and my followers defend them, because Christians are my citizens; and by Allah! I hold out against anything that displeases them. No compulsion is to be on them. Neither are their judges to be removed from their jobs nor their monks from their monasteries.
No one is to destroy a house of their religion, to damage it, or to carry anything from it to the Muslims’ houses. Should anyone take any of these, he would spoil God’s covenant and disobey His Prophet. Verily, they are my allies and have my secure charter against all that they hate.
The Covenant
No one is to force them to travel or to oblige them to fight. The Muslims are to fight for them. If a female Christian is married to a Muslim, it is not to take place without her approval. She is not to be prevented from visiting her church to pray.
Their churches are to be respected. They are neither to be prevented from repairing them nor the sacredness of their covenants. No one of the nation of (Muslims) is to disobey the covenant till the Last Day (end of the world).”

Can Muslims Take Jews & Christians as Friends?

O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people [Quran 5:51]

EXPLANATION: 
Actually friends is a wrong translation; it should rather be "protectors" (Arabic word: awleyaa')

“Friends” here means protectors/political allies. Otherwise verse 5.82 will not make sense:

 “Certainly you will find the most violent of people in enmity for those who believe (to be) the Jews and those who are polytheists, and you will certainly find the nearest in friendship to those who believe (to be) those who say: We are Christians; this is because there are priests and monks among them and because they do not behave proudly.”

The key to understand this verse is on “they are protectors of each other”. Leading scholar in Islamic eschatology, Sheikh Imran N. Hosein has explained this verse well. The verse do not refer to all Jews and Christians, but to the mysterious Judeo-Christians alliance which control the world today. It could be for example the Zionist organization and their military power NATO. Taking the Quran as a whole, we can befriend Christians and Jews in our day to day life, the prophet himself had a Christian wife, but we should not take them in groups as allies.  Because most western governments have always there own greed as a priority and they have secret agendas for example #bilderberg #agenda21

Good treatment of non Muslims:


It is sometimes asserted that the Quran forbids relations of friendship with the followers of other religions. How could a Book which allows a man to have as his comrade in life a woman following another religion (5:5), say in the same breath that no friendly relations can be had with the followers of other religions? The loving relation of husband and wife is the friendliest of all relations and, when this is expressly permitted, there is not the least reason to suppose that other friendly relations are forbidden. The fact is that, wherever there is prohibition against making friends with other people, it relates only to the people who were at war with the Muslims, and this is plainly stated in the Quran:

"God does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes – from dealing kindly and justly with them.  Indeed, God loves those who act justly.  God only forbids you from those who fight you because of religion and expel you from your homes and aid in your expulsion – (forbids) that you make allies of them.  And whoever makes allies of them, then it is those who are the wrongdoers." (Quran 60:8-9)

FROM OWN EXPERIENCE:

 I live in Egypt for already more then 22 years. Before that I used to travel here (Egypt) from Palestine, Holland and Saudi Arabia. The first time I came here was in 1987. Back in that time Egyptian Christians and Muslims were living peacefully together. My Muslim mother in law used to love Mary, mother of Jesus. She even used to go to church with another Muslimfriend and lit candles over there in the early morning. In that time I was still a Christian myself and my first present from her was a neckless which depicted Jesus on the cross. She had Christian friends which she would visit on their religious holidays. In turn those friends would celebrate with her the Muslim holidays. When I was working at a certain school as a teacher, I loved that we had double holidays. Later I became a convinced Muslima and was invited by my Greek Christian friend for Iftar (breaking the fasting of Ramadan days) and I would bring her presents at Christmas. This was the normal way of events back at the time. Even later on during the revolution, Christians and Muslims were walking side by side!




 So what happened ever since? What about the terrorist attacks? First of all we should notice that most of the victims of groups like Isis are Muslims themselves. There are terrorist attacks against churches, but also against mosques. There are certain conspiracies going on to make the middle east weak. It is the old "divide and conquer" technique, where 2 parties destroy each other, while the evil and secret 3rd party is laughing behind the screens. There are many proofs for this.
